The Show Must Go On!
You may have seen the weather reports and yes, there is a chance of precipitation. We’ve chanted “rain, rain go away” for the past week, but it didn’t seem to do the trick. So what does that mean for the Great Arizona Picnic? Business as usual.

The folks at the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame / Scottsdale Culinary Festival want your vote for the Valley's best chef. They would also like your input on best pastry chef, and best restaurant.
TUESDAY: Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame
The annual event will define history with two decades of culinary leaders
The 20th annual Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame will honor its newest recipients on Tuesday, April 5th at 7 p.m. Top chefs and restaurant industry professionals from across the state will gather in downtown Scottsdale for this great achievement. The invite-only cocktail reception is hosted by the Scottsdale League for the Arts (SLA) inside Technique Restaurant at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. This year will recognize the winners of three categories as chosen by a public vote.
TUESDAY: The Kick Off Party
The name says it all, a celebration at W Scottsdale to kick off a week of culinary escapades
Put the “wow” in your weekday. The Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s Kick Off Party is the perfect place for excitement as the Festival initiates six fun days of food, wine and music. Hosted by SKYY Vodka at SHADE, the stylishly sophisticated lounge at the W Scottsdale, the evening will be flowing with hors d’oeuvres, specialty cocktails, tracks provided by DJ Knick Knack and vivacious company to ensure the Festival starts off right.
TUESDAY: Chef Tribute Dinner
An International Harvest with Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten at J&G Steakhouse
Now in its third year, the Chef Tribute Dinner returns to J&G Steakhouse on April 6th. This year, the Chef Tribute Dinner will honor world renowned chef/restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten with a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Michelin starred Chef Jean-Georges will be in the kitchen preparing a five-course, wine-paired tasting menu featuring classic dishes from his restaurants around the world; from Thailand to New York City and everywhere in between.
THURSDAY: The Chocolate & Wine Experience
Heavenly pairings and majestic views atop Talking Stick Resort at Degree 270
Treat your palate to a barrage of reserves and chocolate delights! The Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s second annual Chocolate & Wine Experience is an all-inclusive event held on Thursday, April 7th from 7-10pm. The experience will offer samples of handcrafted desserts from the finest pastry chefs in the Valley and exceptional wines from around the world. Held in the breathtaking skyscape of Degree 270 atop Talking Stick Resort, this luscious pairing will make you think you’ve reached the threshold of heaven.
THURSDAY: Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner
Eight prestigious chefs from all over the nation collaborate on one dinner, one night only
Exceptional food is a rare thing. It takes years of training, finesse and imagination from a single individual. But what happens when you take those individuals and put them together to collaborate creatively for one evening?
 
The outcome is the Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner, a rare, once-in-a-lifetime dining experience featuring renowned James Beard Award-winning chefs. This event has drawn eight of the USA’s most prestigious and influential James Beard award-winning chefs, who will demonstrate their extraordinary talent in a multi-course, collaborative dinner, complete with carefully selected wine pairings.

Taste, trends and thrills unite for the festival’s annual soiree
Lights, camera, fashion! The Scottsdale Culinary Festival™ is partnering with 101.5 JAMZ for the Eat, Drink & Be Pretty, annually one of Scottsdale’s best parties. This fashion-forward culinary soiree will offer a menagerie of tastes from local restaurants, varietals of wine, and an array of cocktails. Runway models will strut breakthrough styles and must-haves of the moment. Once your appetite for food and fashion are satisfied, fulfill your craving for fun with a hot performance from an elite entertainer.
SATURDAY: Chef Wine Dinners
Prestigious vintners and culinary masterminds collaborate for Chef’s Wine Dinner
One of Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s most exclusive and unique culinary experiences are the Chef Wine Dinners. Join award-winning chefs at some of the Valley’s top restaurants for a series of exclusive four-course dinners paired with rich vintage wines. At each restaurant, the chef will work with a prestigious vintner to create exciting food and wine pairings. Both the chef and winemaker will be on-hand to answer questions and talk about the pairings. In order to ensure each dinner is an exclusive and intimate culinary event, attendance will be limited to 24 attendees per restaurant.

The Great Arizona Picnic™ returns with two days of music, food and fun
The Great Arizona Picnic™puts the EAT in retreat with two days of incomparable excitement. Going into its 33rd year, the Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s “GAP” is hosted on the gorgeous grounds of the Scottsdale Civic Center. Culinary revelers can saturate the senses with tastings from Valley favorites, play-area activities for children, live entertainment, and an assortment of fine spirits, beer and wine.

In its 33rd year, the Scottsdale Culinary Festival™will have the kitchen heating up with fierce culinary-world masterminds at Cooks & Corks™. Presented by Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting featuring Sub-Zero and Wolf Appliance, Cooks & Corks™ is a renowned culinary event at the heart of the Great Arizona Picnic™and the Scottsdale Culinary Festival™.
SUNDAY: Wine Country Brunch
Silent auction and flavor unite in a glamorous morning of culinary delights
Like a breakfast in opulent royal quarters, guests of the Wine Country Brunch will sip champagne in sumptuous surroundings. The event will take place Sunday, April 10th at the Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center as it is glamorously outfitted with black linens, exuberant candelabras, sconces and chandeliers. Guests are invited to dine on a lineup of delicacies while bidding on tantalizing luxury items at the brunch’s silent auction and mingling with winemakers to discuss vintages. Chef Ray Anderson will exhibit elegant breakfast classics and delicate delights. The Wine Country Brunch is hosted by the Scottsdale Culinary Festival (SCF), celebrating its 33rd anniversary this year.
SUNDAY: Best of the Fest
The culinary climax of the Festival unites the Valley’s top chefs for the ultimate dining experience
This is it, the 33rd Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s grand finale! Best of the Fest™, the Festival’s grandiose culinary conclusion, is hosted at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa. This much anticipated soiree is full of gusto and gastronomical delights as the Valley’s finest chefs share a stage to craft a sumptuous five-course, wine- paired feast. Scottsdale Culinary Festival Donates $302,000 For Arts and Arts Education in 2010
As the nation’s longest-running culinary celebration, the Scottsdale Culinary Festival (SCF) is a Valley institution. However, between all the celebrity-chef dinners, Champagne brunches, and food-filled picnics, it’s easy to lose track of the festival’s tastiest takeaway: $302,000 in fundraising for over 40 charities in the Arts and Arts Education.
The Scottsdale Culinary Festival Announces Date For 2011

Scottsdale Culinary Festival and Singh Farms plant vegetable patch
Scottsdale, AZ (November 2009) — In preparation for its 32nd annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival (April 13-18, 2010), the Scottsdale League for the Arts recently planted an organic vegetable garden on the grounds of the Scottsdale Center for the Arts (7380 E. Second St.). Managed by the composting and sustainability gurus, Ken and Lee Singh of Singh Farms, the garden will provide fresh herbs and produce to be used at the 2010 Scottsdale Culinary Festival.  Vegetables harvested through the winter and spring will be donated to the Vista del Camino community center in Scottsdale.
